BUILDING MYLOKTANTRA CLUSTERS FOR COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT

MyLoktantra Clusters are aimed at the empowerment of the entire community. They are formed in high-density slums or JJ colonies where the marginal and vulnerable sections live. They capitalise on social capital for deepened and sustainable change.

 The process of change begins with a week-long Financial literacy and inclusion camp. Post camp, collective of women are organised as self help groups under MyLoktantra Sakhi Network . These women are mentored and handheld to discover their inner strength and gain know- how to act as agents of change for their families and communities.

Aided by the Myloktantra team regular meetings and training sessions are conducted. They are imparted with information and technical assistance about financial management including banking,small savings ,social security and loan options for the poor. MyLoktantra Bal Toli is formed for shaping their kids’ future.The self-help groups also act as anchors for mutual support against domestic violence and abuse .
